Anyone can file legal claim against anyone at any time for any reason. A claim alone doesn't determine whether a website is actually inaccessible or doesn't conform to WCAG. What matters is whether you can demonstrate that you are taking meaningful, ongoing steps to make your website accessible.
When accessWidget is installed, it helps you mitigate legal risk by providing clear documentation and evidence of your accessibility efforts. In the rare case of a claim, we will provide you with everything you need to show compliance.
Here's how accessWidget helps:
Accessibility statement
After installation, you will receive an accessibility statement for your website. This statement outlines the adjustments accessWidget has made to your website, including compatibility with browsers and assistive technology. It certifies that your website adheres to the WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines, which helps makes you accessible and compliant with the ADA and other accessibility standards that are based on WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Ongoing audit reports
accessiBe provides monthly accessibility audit reports for each registered domain. These reports document ongoing monitoring and remediation efforts, helping you show that accessibility is actively maintained over time. We recommend downloading these monthly reports as proof of ongoing efforts to maintain compliance standards.
Litigation Support Package (available on select plans)
At this point, you should have enough to stop any lawsuit in its tracks. However, if a claim moves forward, certain plans offer accessiBe's Litigation Support Package.
