Customize accessibility rules used in scheduled audits

  • Updated

Control which accessibility rules run in your scheduled audits. This helps you focus on the results that matter most to your accessibility strategy.

Not every rule is equally relevant for every website. Customizing your rules helps reduce false positives, and align audits with your risk tolerance and priorities.

Manage accessibility rules

Use the search bar to find a specific rule quickly.

Each rule displays:

  • Criteria
  • Severity
  • Number of issues
  • Source (WCAG rule or best practice)
  • Status (Included or excluded)

Changes apply to the next scheduled audit and do not affect audits already in progress.

Exclude a rule

  1. Go to Settings > Accessibility rules.
  2. Hover over a rule and select Exclude to remove it from future audits.
  3. Select Continue to confirm.
  4. Provide a reason for excluding the rule.
  5. (Optional) Add more details about your decision.

Include a rule

  1. Go to Settings > Accessibility rules.
  2. Hover over a rule and select Include to include the rule again.
  3. Select Include rule to confirm.

Best practices

  • Review excluded rules regularly to avoid missing important issues.
  • Adjust your rule selection as your accessibility goals evolve.
